Whiplash is a type of neck injury that occurs when your head suddenly moves backward and then forward, kind of like the cracking of a whip. This movement can strain the muscles, ligaments, and sometimes even the nerves in your neck. The symptoms are different for everybody, but often include:

• Neck pain and stiffness
• Headaches (usually starting at the
base of your skull)
• Pain in the shoulders or upper back
• Dizziness or trouble focusing
• Sometimes tingling in the arms or hands

You don’t have to have obvious bruising or swelling to be dealing with whiplash. Even a small accident or sudden twist can trigger these symptoms.

When your vehicle is struck, the sudden movement can cause the body to jerk forward and back, commonly leading to whiplash, sprains, strains, disc injuries, or back injuries.

Even minor collisions can affect the spine, muscles, and joints, disrupting normal function. Without proper care, these injuries can linger and lead to chronic discomfort or limited mobility.

That’s why it’s important to see a car accident chiropractor ASAP after a collision, even if you don’t feel immediate pain.

Early care helps identify misalignments or soft tissue damage before they worsen.

Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons for seeking chiropractic care. Patients with lower back pain experience:

• Muscle aches
• Sharp shooting or stabbing pains
• Pain that radiates through the legs
• Pain that worsens with activity and improves when in a reclined position

Lower back pain can be debilitating, making it difficult to perform everyday tasks, but the good news is that chiropractic care is extremely effective when it comes to this type of pain.

Our first step is to determine the origin of your lower back pain. Some common causes include:

• Sprained or strained muscles
• Misalignment of the spine
• Lumbar disc issues
• Tight or weak muscles
• Bad knees, hips, ankles, or feet

The rapid physical, chemical, and emotional changes brought on by pregnancy can place a significant amount of strain on the body. Clarity can help support your body as it transitions and prepares for childbirth.

At Clarity we take special care with our pregnant patients and use specialized techniques that are suitable for expectant mothers. Gentle chiropractic adjustments can help with spinal alignment to soothe the aches and pains associated with pregnancy. Two of the techniques we commonly use are Webster’s technique and Logan’s technique.

There isn’t just one cause for headaches, which is why treatment can feel frustrating. Sometimes tension builds up in the neck and shoulders from poor posture, heavy bags, or hunching over phones and computers. Other times, it’s stress, dehydration, hormonal changes, or even certain foods that act as triggers.

Migraines are often more complicated. They usually involve a mix of nerve signals, blood vessel changes, and genetics. Common signs include pounding pain on one side, sensitivity to light or sound, nausea, or seeing visual disturbances called “auras.” If you’ve ever had to cancel plans or miss work because of a migraine, you know how disruptive it can be.

The symptoms of sciatica can vary widely, but they typically involve pain that radiates from the lower back down one leg. The pain may feel sharp, burning, or electric, and it can worsen with movement or prolonged sitting. In some cases, individuals may experience numbness or tingling sensations in the leg or foot, and muscle weakness can develop. Sciatica may affect one or both sides of the body, though it is usually more prominent on one side.

Dr. Mel is certified in pediatric chiropractic and is one of the few chiropractors in Henderson trained to treat children after trauma — including sports injuries, car accidents (MVCs), and other physical incidents.

Children’s bodies respond differently to injury, and early intervention can make a real difference in recovery. Whether your child is dealing with post-accident pain, a sports-related strain, or you’re looking for proactive wellness care, Clarity provides gentle, age-appropriate chiropractic treatment in a comfortable environment.

We also offer pediatric wellness visits to support healthy development, posture, and spinal alignment as your child grows.
